About

The main intention for YogAlicia is simple:
To help you find safety in your own body.

Alicia will teach you the skills to develop your own yoga routine to meet the needs of your body.
This is done by finding the poses best suited for your body type, your physical limitations, and the types of physical exercise that you want. Over time clients learn to integrate breathing, meditation practices, and more to supplement their physical practice.

If you’ve ever suffered with pain, you know very well some days require different types of care. Creating a yoga practice for both the good days and bad days will make it easier for you to continue movement, and find strength and support to move away from chronic pain.

Students become self-reliant by establishing their own practice. Once they have learned a consistent practice, they may choose to continue their practice on their own, or to meet with Alicia less frequently to learn and refine their own skills.

Are you in chronic pain?

Whether it’s caused by musculoskeletal imbalance, injury or a disease condition, yoga may be able to help. As an emerging field, yoga therapy combines the Eastern benefits of breathing and meditation, alongside the use of physical postures to help build strength in the body.

As a yoga therapist, I work with clients to find the root of their pain patterns, and develop physical practices to alleviate overuse patterns as well as lessen chronic inflammation. I also use breathing exercises as well as meditation (mind-quieting exercises) to help reduce the chances that emotional and psychological stress patterns will add to the chronic pain.

Contact me today to discuss your case, and we’ll see if yoga therapy might be right for you!
